Gaming marathons to raise funds for charity

I am a member of a group of gamers over the internet named The Speed Gamers, and we perform gaming marathons for charity. At the time of writing, we (as a group), have raised a total of over US$15,000 for various charities, with our most successful marathon having raised over $6000 over the course of 72 hours. That marathon was based on Nintendo's Metroid series, and I personally played three of the games during the marathon.

My name is dark_dwaggie and I'm 23. I have been playing computer games since I was two years old. This began with typing games on an old Amstrad (very old Amstrad PC - the screen was a green-text interface :P). I moved up to scrabble when I was 5, and by the age of 6, I was beating everyone we could find playing Tetris on Nintendo's Gameboy.

I like to think I'm a professional gamer. I am a member of a group of gamers over the internet named The Speed Gamers, and we perform gaming marathons for charity. At the time of writing, we (as a group), have raised a total of over US$15,000 for various charities, with our most successful marathon having raised over $6000 over the course of 72 hours. I made over £700 in two weeks on King.com
I visit King.com every day and can play for one to six hours a day. My favorite games on King are Flower Power (simply because I'm good at it, and I was the first person on the site to get Diamond award for it), and Abacus Alley, simply because it's so unique...there's nothing like it at all on the site, or anywhere else I've played. When Graceful Jewels was first released, thanks to the Royal Cup, and progressive tournament, and normal games, I made over £700 in two weeks on King.com. It felt insane just watching it...it felt like a dream. I couldn't believe it was happening, and I kept thinking, "Surely I'm gonna wake up, surely this isn't happening."

I participate in most of the competitions King.com has. A long time ago, King.com got Lennox Lewis in to play Chester against players on the site. I was one of the lucky ones picked, but after a mistake that gave away my Queen, I lost fairly quickly. I also managed to play against Jeanette Lee at one point, in her own name-branded eight-ball pool on King.com… and I managed to beat her, earning myself a £100 prize and a signed certificate! Last but not least, back in October 2005 I won a Microsoft Xbox console by being the first player on the site to reach Platinum award in King's game ‘KicKing’.

I am now living with someone I met through King.com, morning_honeybee, who is a wonderful person, and we hit it off fantastically. Her autistic six year old son, Paul, now calls me "daddy" now, and it's a brilliant feeling. :)
